Work Strand 2
Work Strand 2 Co-leads: Prof. Cathryn Lewis (King’s College London) and Dr Adrian Mander (MRC Centre Cambridge)
AIM HY will generate large amounts of clinical, genetic and metabolomic data, which need sophisticated statistical analysis to ensure the research programme achieves its aims. Work Strand 2 will provide the necessary statistical methodology and analysis to support WS1, WS3 and subsequent work strands. Statistical genetics work from Professor Cathryn Lewis and Dr Raquel Iniesta at KCL is being focused on using data from the existing US clinical trials to develop panels of Ancestry Informative Markers, and to test whether ancestry that is genetically defined is a better predictor of response than self-defined ethnicity. The team will submit on early 2017 a scientific article about their last advances on this research. The biostatistics work from Dr Adrian Mander’s team at The MRC Biostatistics Unit aims to provide support to the design and analysis of the RCT in WS3, as well as the mechanistic and global WSs.
